We will not bore you with all the background information of how Ratties became our passion, as that in itself would take you a week to read. We feel that it is enough to say that we are an animal loving family of 6, plus fur babies.
Pet Ratties are an animal that get a bad reputation due to people not being well informed. We are here doing what we do to hopefully provide, for those who wish to know, informative, truthful and researched information.
We as pets keepers understand that sometimes situation changes make it necessary to seek new homes for pets, however, Ratties are an animal that few places have the desire or want to take in. That’s where we come in.
A couple of years ago there was an organisation in Western Australia that was willing to take in unwanted Ratties called Rats WA, unfortunately , due to financial and personal strain that this took on these lovely people they decided to call it quits and understandably so. We have personally been in contact with these people and have nothing but nice things to say about them. They are still personally owned by domestic Ratties, and say they possibly will always be, as well as also rescuing other animals from an uncertain fate. These people are also wonderful about answering our questions, never have they refused to supply us with information as they are still concerned for the Ratties of the world.
Back to us I guess, since we have been told by the ones that own us that we can only have a little of their website space.
We are currently owned by 7 Ratties, 3 Girls : Suz, Cutie & Lady plus 4 Boys : Squirt (our mascot), Thomas, Milo & Limpy. You can find more about each of our Ratties by visiting their pages.
Our family is dedicated to providing information, care, and re-homing services (when needed) of domestic Ratties. Our own extended families are also passionate about animals, they provide us with valuable emotional support when we need it & we feel extremely lucky to have them around.
We hope that providing easy to find information will help reduce the need for rescue shelters like ours in the future.
On a last note, we have a forum that you can register with if you wish. This is a great place to meet other Rattie lovers. The forum is not restricted to Australians only, we welcome everyone from all over the world. You can get valuable advise from other Rattie owners, and “meet” us, getting to know us a little better if you wish.
