These girls originally were surrendered as a group of 10. For this reason we believe that the girls should be adopted in a group of 2 in order to reduce unnecessary stress. These girls came to us with very little confidence and showed signs of nipping when cornered. Since arriving into our care we have actively handled them on a daily basis to a point where they are comfortable being touched but prefer not to be scooped up, although this is possible. The Champagne girl came into the rescue with a slight respiratory problem and has since been treated with medication and the illness has resolved. Her right eye does occasionally weep but the cause is unknown and it does seem to resolve itself. We have had previous experience with this type of occurence and some believe it to be environmental.
Although these girls are not 100% social we believe they will make excellent companiosn for a family willing to put in the time and effort to continue the socialisation process already started by PRRR.

NB. By providing an EOI form to us you are not automatically guaranteed to become the adoptive family for these girls. We will investigate each EOI form upon its own merits and decide on the most appropriate and suitable placement of these girls based on THEIR needs and special conditions.

At PRRR we prefer to adopt out ALL rats within a group.
Where this is not possible we will evaluate the individual animals, their past and their behaviours and determine whether they need to be adopted as a group or subset of at least 2 from the same group.
