We currently have the following Male Rats up for adoption.
2 Males - Surrendered 12/08/2008
Must be adopted as a pair
Agouti (approx 9 Months)

Agouti Hood (approx 9 Months)

This pair came to us with some human socialisation issues as they had not been handled much. Both still are hand wary but will approach once they realise there is no threat. The Agouti Hood boy was a screamer but everyday settles more as the trust grows. Neither boy has ever shown aggression issues although they do like to clean under your fingernails. Both boys enjoy some free range time in a controlled environment as they are young they are still full of energy at times and wanting to sleep the rest. Neither boy has displayed any health issues and they are both great eaters.
These boys have been housed with 4 other males for their entire lives (as far as we know). We will ONLY adopt them as a pair since they are biologically related and are a bonded pair. To seperate them individually will put unnecessary duress and cause behavioural issues due to this.
Adoption cost for these two would normally be $10.00 each but since the family will be required to adopt them as a pair we will offer them for adoption at $16.00
Should you be intersted in adopting these boys please feel free to email us at adoptions@prrr.org or complete an Expression Of Interest (EOI) form HERE.
NB. By providing an EOI form to us you are not automatically guaranteed to become the adoptive family for these boys. We will investigate each EOI form upon its own merits and decide on the most appropriate and suitable placement of these boys based on THEIR needs and special conditions.
----------
At PRRR we prefer to adopt out ALL rats within a group.
Where this is not possible we will evaluate the individual animals, their past and their behaviours and determine whether they need to be adopted as a group or subset of at least 2 from the same group.
