hey thought id finally post here the vet i go to :P

i cant remember all the exact details for the vets, however all three of my boys have gone to this vet clinic (my budgie, and both rats, though vanilla was just coming along for a weigh in and moral support for snowball :P)

they have specialists there for all animals- cats, birds, dogs, small animals and large animals (eg horses, cattle). ive always found them to be straight to the point and give clear easy to understand explanations of whats happening. the first time i took snowball there, the vet had done a bit of extra homework and looked up a bit more about myco and gone through recent articles in vetinary books etc to find the exact course of action, and her treatment really hit the myco on the head very quickly, and snowball has never gotten a bout like that since. their vets are also not afraid to tell you about alternative treatments (eg echinacea for myco in rats and antioxidant rich stuff like olive leaf extract)

the receptionist is absolutely lovely, you can tell she adores animals, and all animals that come in the door get greeted by name by her (as well as the owners of course!) and she remembers your pets too :rattylove:

from memory the straight consultation cost is $45, a lil pricey but i dont mind paying for good service! and both times ive called other vets ive been recommended to go there as they specialise in the pets i own- so they must have a good rep built up!

ive never been there for major things, just mites in my budgie and myco and a sprained leg for the rats, so i dont know what their prices are like for surgeries etc. but they are very quick at getting you an appointment.

and if you are lucky, you get to see wild animals being collected or dropped off by the local wildlife rescue park :rattylove: including lizards and birds and lil mammals :D so cute!

as ive said ive never had to try them with a full on problem and they do seem a lil costly, but if nothing else the vet has a really nice feel when you walk into it, lotsa good vibes :) and i like to follow my 6th sense on such things :) it usually leads me right

plus the fact they are recommended by other vets, they must do something right! :D
